Auditing and Evaluation of Existing Systems
Observed System Evidence|Prioritised Remediation|Practical Modernisation
Sphere 10 evaluates existing applications and infrastructure to support a concrete decision: repair, retain, replace or modernise. We inspect the system's actual configuration and behaviour, connect findings to business operations and give you a prioritised plan. The assessment separates observed facts from assumptions and from work that still needs testing.
Agree the Questions the Review Must Answer
An audit can focus on performance, recoverability, deployment, maintainability or the condition of an inherited .NET application. We establish the systems in scope, permitted inspection methods and the evidence needed for the decision. Existing documentation is checked against the running environment rather than treated as an accurate inventory by default.
We map application processes, data stores, integrations and support ownership. For .NET systems, the review can examine solution dependencies, runtime compatibility, transaction boundaries and the separation of user interface, business and data layers. Sphere10 Framework gives us direct experience maintaining those mechanisms, not just reading a third-party architecture checklist.
Connect Host Evidence to Application Behaviour
Our System Expert development includes captured process, memory, storage, network and Windows configuration inventories, with bounded histories and diagnostic output. We use that engineering background to select useful measurements and explain their limitations. A transient sample, unavailable sensor and sustained bottleneck are different findings.
The review also examines operational paths: deployment, backup, restore, access changes and incident diagnosis. We identify fragile assumptions such as an undocumented scheduled job, a stateful container treated as disposable or a database change without a rollback plan. Findings include the likely effect and the evidence supporting it.
A Decision-Ready Assessment
Close the Review With an Actionable Baseline
We walk through the findings with the people responsible for the system and distinguish immediate faults from longer-term improvements. Acceptance is the agreed evidence package and decision support, not a promise that every possible defect has been discovered. Handover includes the collected non-secret configuration references, reproducible checks and proposed next steps. Remediation can become a separately scoped delivery engagement, allowing the review to remain useful even when another team performs the changes.
