Containers and Clusters
Portable Application Packages|Controlled Rollouts|State-Aware Operations
Sphere 10 packages .NET applications and supporting services into reproducible container deployments. We implement environments ranging from a single-host Docker Compose stack to Kubernetes workloads where orchestration is justified. Application state, identity, networking and recovery are designed alongside the container image rather than left for operations to discover.
Choose the Smallest Useful Operating Model
We begin with deployment frequency, service dependencies, availability requirements and the team maintaining the system. Compose can provide a clear model for a bounded multi-service application on one host. Kubernetes becomes appropriate when the workload needs its scheduling and rollout mechanisms and the organisation can support the additional platform responsibilities.
Our enterprise application deployment work includes portable .NET Linux packages, non-root processes, read-only service filesystems and retained data volumes. These are concrete engineering foundations. We do not treat a container as evidence that an application is stateless or safe to replicate; database, workflow and local-file ownership must be reviewed first.
Make the Image and Runtime Agree
Build definitions capture runtime dependencies, supported architecture and the exact application output. Configuration and credentials stay separate from the immutable image. We define exposed ports, internal networks, volume ownership and resource bounds, then make readiness reflect whether the service can perform useful work.
Rollout and rollback account for schema and data compatibility as well as image versions. Health checks, startup timing and graceful termination are tested against real application behaviour. Persistent stores receive an explicit backup and restoration method; deleting and recreating a service must not silently destroy the business data it uses.
Your Deployment Package
Prove Replacement Without Losing State
Acceptance includes a fresh deployment, service restart, dependency failure and replacement of an application image while retaining the required records. Cluster engagements test the agreed rollout and node-disruption scenarios. We verify the served application separately from container health. Handover includes the build context, deployment definitions and measured operating limits. Local Notion and our .NET hosting work reinforce that distinction between packaged output, activated services and the result a user actually receives.
