Cross-Platform Solutions

Shared Core|Explicit Platform Adapters|Verified Target Builds

Sphere 10 develops applications with a shared core and deliberate platform boundaries. The goal is useful reuse across the systems you actually support, with a clear explanation of what is common, what is native and how each target is built and tested.

Start With the Portability Boundary

We separate domain rules, data contracts and calculations from the filesystem, UI, operating-system services and native libraries. Dependency injection supplies platform adapters. A headless .NET service, an Avalonia desktop application and a MAUI client can share appropriate business components without sharing every package or screen.

We inventory existing assumptions before a port: case-sensitive paths, directory permissions, time zones, locale-dependent parsing, native dependencies and architecture-specific binaries. A target matrix captures which features are supported on each operating system. Unsupported features receive an explicit alternative rather than failing during deployment.

A Real Cross-Platform Product Reference

Local Notion is our .NET command-line product for downloading Notion content and generating local HTML publications. Its repository documents Windows, Linux and macOS archives, including multiple processor architectures. The application references Sphere10 Framework Core, Application and Data; Windows-specific UI libraries are kept out of that CLI dependency set.

That is the distinction we apply to your system. The Framework includes both portable libraries and Windows-only adapters. We choose dependencies for the selected runtime and check native assets rather than interpreting the Framework name as a guarantee that every assembly runs everywhere.

Control Data and Integration Behaviour

Use explicit text encodings, stable file formats and well-defined serialization contracts.
Keep credentials and mutable user data in appropriate per-user locations rather than beside read-only binaries.
Separate local caching from authoritative server records and define reconnect behaviour.
Handle termination signals, cancellation and cleanup without assuming Windows message-loop behaviour.

Verify Each Promised Target

You receive a shared-code map, platform projects/adapters, build automation and packages for the agreed runtime identifiers. Acceptance runs representative workflows on clean target machines, including installation, file access, network failure and upgrade with existing data. We assess startup time and memory when packaging or dependency choices change. Your team can trace an operating-system difference to an owned adapter instead of maintaining separate forks whose business behaviour gradually diverges.

We also include a dependency check for each target: a portable application core should not acquire a Windows-only assembly through an unrelated feature. Build and smoke-test results identify the exact package generation and runtime tested.
